Animal Kingdom ~ Vintage Tarzan

Recently Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom put an end to its stage show, Tarzan Rocks. It was also announced that another show will be replacing it by the end of this year. Finding Nemo: The Musical. A stage show similiar to that of MGM Studio's Voyage of the Little Mermaid where the use of puppets, stage effects and lighting will bring you a show unlike any you've ever seen... at Animal Kingdom.

Pictured above is one of the Tarzan performers during the seven year run. He's quite leaner than the one I saw last December so expect to see him as well as other Vintage Tarzan posts in the coming weeks.

But don't worry fans of Tarzan Rocks, Disney has transformed the story of Tarzan into a stage musical set to debut worldwide on May 10th.

MSN Story ~ Who Needs Kids At Disney World?

Checking the PC the other day, I noticed a MSN.com cover story about adults visiting Walt Disney World... without kids! What a fun thought. Not everyone has a child within their family tree, some just want to go the Disney Theme Parks to relieve that childhood sense within themselves. So instead of wasting your money going to another beach resort out of the country, why not try Walt Disney World. Four parks. Dozens of on property resorts to choose from. Downtown Disney district complete with fine dining and [laughable] night clubs.

One very important tip I found in an article within the article is a tip that I already follow when visiting the theme parks. "Wait until it’s time to go home to buy souvenirs." Also, when shopping while inside a Disney Theme Park, never buy on impulse. Shop around first. Don't pay for anything until you're on your way out and on your way back to the hotel. Of course one can send their purchased items to their home address but one must pay extra fees.

But if you're not sending anything home, remember to hold back on purchasing everything you see in sight. That way you're hands are free all day from annoying bags. One could also send a purchased item to their hotel room but many reasons could prevent one from using this helpful park feature: you could be flying home the next day, you're not staying on Disney property and/or the store doesn't offer that option.

Check out the MSN article before it's gone from their database.

Meet The Robinsons . Todayland

It looks like Tomorrowland is known as Todayland in the near future. Walt Disney Pictures film "Meet The Robinsons" will feature the theme park locale in the movie but details are unknown if the featured Todayland is actually inside a Disney park or just some kind of headquartes for the characters in the film.

Check out the official film teaser but it's only a tease because the film doesn't open in theatres until March 2007.

Kingdom Hearts 2 ~ 1st 4 Hrs

So I got my copy the day the game was released but I just now got around to actually playing it starting about 2 days ago. Four total hours in I finally get to play the Disney side of the game meaning I get to play as Sora with Donald & Goofy at my side. It took me four freakin' hours to get to that point.

I'm not at all a big Final Fantasy fan and so when I started to notice that the first four hours of the game resembled an actual FF format, I was pissed. I'm doing odd jobs to get money to get on a train, I'm having endless flashbacks sequences and endless conversations with everyone in Twilight Town.

So for those in the same "Steamboat Willie" boat as me, it will take you about 4 hours to get to that point of playing Sora. Now I actually do respect and love that the game takes the best elements/art of any Final Fantasy game and creates a very simplifed version for Disney fans. Now I can begin to enjoy the Kingdom Hearts 2 game as advertised.

Now with hope that this game will become a highly successful venture in the states, I'm hoping that the Disney Theme Parks will get wind of the popularity of Kingdom Hearts and thus create KH park attractions. I'd love to see the Disney train found in Twilight Town get a full scale model so that people can step inside to see and feel an actual ride to the Tower where Yen Sid lives. A simple idea that can be recreated at every Disneyland park.

I would also buy those tasty blue ice cream treats as seen in this first four hours, that is if they were sold in stores. Oh, It would be sweet if I saw them for sale at Disneyland!

Disneyland ~ Late July Trip

I've booked my hotel room at the Grand Californian Hotel. Got a new camera coming thanks to HSN.com. And I have plenty of maps through eBay sellers. I'm ready for Disneyland, California! Well... almost ready. I need your help!

If you've been to Disneyland and think you have a tip that is worth sharing and should help me in my first trip to the California parks, then please take the time to comment just below. Anything helps.

I already know that the Matterhorn seems to be THE ride to take in while visiting the original Disneyland. I remember a Disney Prince stating in a Travel Channel special that it's the first ride he gets on when he visits the park and the it's the last ride he gets on before he leaves. Is it that good?

Let's see, I also know that Pirates of the Carribbean is getting refurbished as the park adds characters from the movies into the ride. And I also know that a Finding Nemo ride is under construction where 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride once was... but that's not a tip, just news. I need tips from you!

Oh gawd my stomach is in knots thinking about this trip.

Disney Prince ~ Explanation

Here on Micoofy.com you will occasionally find me referring some Disney Theme Park male visitors as Disney Prince(s). There is no implication, at all, that the person(s) featured in any photograph under the title of "Disney Prince" are gay. He/They are just simply that, a Disney Theme Park visitor.

He could be a father, a brother, a boyfriend, a friend, a partner, bascially his role in the image is simply that he's a Disney Prince. Being a Disney Prince could mean that you are good looking, maybe gorgeous, built like an athlete, possibly showcasing wonderful moments captured through a photograph, maybe embracing a loved one, sharing a moment with a loved one... overall any Disney Prince featured on Micoofy.com is selected based on various high quality reasons.

If you see yourself on here as a Disney Prince, I hope you're flattered.

Disney Prince ~ This title means that the Prince was photographed inside the Walt Disney World theme parks.

Epcot Prince ~ This title means the Prince was photographed inside Epcot theme park.

Disneyland Prince ~ This simply means that the Prince photographed was enjoying his stay while in the Disneyland Resort.

Welcome To Micoofy.com

"To all who come to this happy place... Welcome..." Those are the immortal words from Walt Disney himself as he delivered his Disneyland dedication speech some years ago. So today, as I attempt to start my newest website/blog, Micoofy.com, I welcome one and all to what I like to call a safe g-rated haven for gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual Disney Theme Park visitors and/or fans. My dream is to make Micoofy.com one of the happiest places on the web for everyone... but mostly the GLBT community.

Before I go on I'd like to address those who are now reading this blog in absolute horror that a gay guy is writing about Disney related material. Disneyland & Walt Disney World belongs to the people of the world, not to the right wing straighties who look down on me for my interest in these theme parks. So please take your villainous, homophobic issues elsewhere.

Here at Micoofy.com I, Micoofy Duck, plan to bring those in the GLBT community [and anyone else of interest] some of the best information regarding the Disney Theme Parks. My vast and ever growing database of theme park knowledge is in much need of a "blog expression" so expect to be well educated here at Micoofy.com. My only admittable fault is that I have yet to visit Disneyland Paris, Disneyland Tokyo & Disneyland Hong Kong. It would be nice though to take a future Disney Cruise vacation that stops at the these select parks. What a gay day that would be!

The content that one can expect to find on Micoofy.com are as follows: how-to guides, park tips mixed with tricks, eBay disney auctions, theme park music, online home videos [courtesy of YouTube.com], theme park news, employee interviews, Grand Disney ideas and thoughts by Micoofy Duck, hundreds of park photos, Disney Princes, Fan Q&A's and if Micoofy.com becomes highly successful by April 2007... Monthly Giveaways & Contests!

And if you're curious or wondering... I'd rather be on the villain side of things. I will bow and honor Maleficent, one day have a nice brunch chat with Cruella de Vila and I truely believe Beauty and the Beast's Gaston survived that epic fall and has been building up his strength and health, perfecting his muscled physique and tweaking his villainous demeanor somewhere deep in the enchanted woods as he waits for his breath taking return to destroy... The Beast!

On the good side of things I favor Prince Phillip over Prince Eric, would love to one day share a dinner date with King Triton and hope to entice Hercules to tell me all about the Greek Gods' colossus "happy" secrets.

I'd also love to one day plan a mega month trip to Walt Disney World during either the month of October or December. Yes I'm that big of a fan of all the Disney Theme Parks that I'd want to spend an entire month doing everything I can on Disney property. Each week or every few days I'd jump to a new Disney hotel [suite]. Every day I'd meet someone from around the world and just talk Disney and culture. I'd also get to visit every Disney park store and experience every resturant at Epcot. And lastly I'd get to have more than enough time to meet & greet every Disney character [villain]. One day... yep, one day my biggest dream will come true.

Finally I'd just like to thank every last one of you for taking the time to stop by to enjoy Micoofy.com. This site can only exist if there's a healthy amount of audience participation, continued web interest and Disney Theme Park fans sharing endless stories, photos and memories. The day Disneyland & Walt Disney World closes will the be the day Micoofy.com closes. And as Walt Disney once said himself, "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world." Well said Walt. Well said.

I Like My Boyfriend But I Love Mickey

Yes ladies and gentlemen, Mickey Mouse is fully aware of his hugely popular gay fan base. Mickey Mouse loves us one and all. Now if you don't hear it directly from MIckey Mouse, you know, that he's anti-gay then it's just nonsense and silly rumors that Mickey Mouse is only for straight people. He's a gift for the world to enjoy. Thank you Mr. Disney.

Come here... a little bit closer... I'm more of a Goofy fan but don't tell Mickey! Shhh!

Micoofy Tunes ~ Explanation

well, click play on an actual working Micoofy Tune post

Micoofy Tunes found here on Micoofy.com are musical tracks from various Walt Disney World & Disneyland related soundtracks that are used within the theme parks. You will never find downloadable mp3 files here on Micoofy.com, so don't ask for the tracks. I won't respond to your requests.

These posts simply allow every Micoofy.com visitor to listen to a Disney Theme Park track while they check out the posts of the day. Now if you refresh the page or jump to another Micoofy.com link, the music will be gone or have to be restarted. Also, the sound quality may either be too loud for some or not clear enough for others, they're just here to amuse those in need of a musical theme park fix.

Actually if you listen to the Fantasyland track, it almost sounds as if you're at the park hearing the music play over the outside speakers. At least that's what I think.

And for those still unhappy with the sound quality and/or those sneering at the screen as they are unimpressed with this feature, I'll be working on getting better audio quality sound here.

Finally, if you're wondering which CD the Micoofy tune came from, just ask through the comments area of any post and I'll respond as soon as I can.
