Breaking in new shoes can be an uber bitch to your feet and that pain can bring you down emotionally and physically before and during your big Disney trip. So buy new shoes at least a month before you depart for your Disney holiday. Give your feet about a month to break those new shoes in. Also bring your favorite pair of vintage shoes your feet are already comfortable in along with a pair of comfy flip flops. You want options for your non stop walking Disney trip. Be kind to your feet.
Women out there, be very extra careful with your shoes because if you think you can tackle the parks in dress shoes or flats, tsk tsk tsk, you're highly mistaken. Expect blisters and skin rubbing from your shoes that will leave you in pain that will make you a big grump. Do bring your flats or dress shoes but pack them in your travel bag that you take in the park. Switch out your shoes if you have plenty of baggage entering the parks. No one wants to travel all the way back to your car or hotel room to switch out shoes.
Remember there are lockers at each park but that'll cost you. Think about your feet when your next Disney trip approaches.
I can't wait to see it in person this summer! Going to officially book my first 2 trips 1st week of February!
This year I'm sooo heading to Walt Disney World, I hope, 3 times! There's the new Fantasyland updates with a Snow White mine ride, expanded Toon Town turned into Storybook Circus area. I am bummed that Sleeping Beauty's home and Cinderella's meet and greet areas are being axed as well as Snow White's Scary Adventures dark ride.
But really I only ride Snow White's Scary dark ride like once every visit so seeing that get replaced with a Princess meet and greet so that we can get so much more Fantasyland, well, I'm perfectly fine with that.
I still can't figure out if I should take a 4th of July visit this year or a late July/early August visit. Damn... choices choices.
Last night I was playing around with the booking machines at Disneyland.com & WaltDisneyWorld.com and to my shock Disneyland is still far more expensive versus a stay at Walt Disney World. I want a summer trip to finally experience Summer Nightastic at either resort. Not sure if WDW will offer anything new for this year but I suspect Disneyland will offer the EPIC return of Disneyland's Main Street Electrical Parade to Disneyland's Main Street U.S.A.
I would hope Spectromagic will have updated itself with new floats and music. I mean I know everyone loves MSEP but Spectromagic is my MSEP. I grew up experiencing Spectromagic and I hope it's a light parade that will never go away or get replaced.
Unless Disneyland offers some insane discounts for a 6 day visit that would beat an 8 or 9 day visit to the WDW resort well all I can say is here I come WDW!
I still hope for a Disneyland visit this year but it looks like I'll be visiting Walt Disney World 3 times this year if Disneyland's vacation packages don't get lighter in price.
A visit this summer, this Halloween and then this New Year's Eve. I just may do a 4th of July visit this year and make all 3 visits to the Magic Kingdom a holiday theme.
Choices choices choices. Damn.
Updates return Monday and the Christmas decor I hope will come down Sunday.
Not sure why but the closer you are to the castle the smaller the fireworks become. The further back you stand down Main Street the large the fireworks appear. If you have a vacation coming up where you'll spend multiple nights at the Magic Kingdom then by all means try an experiment.
First night, watch the nightly fireworks somewhere around the hub. I believe if you are facing the castle then you'll have a better view of the fireworks if you move towards the right of the hub, aka the statue of Walt & Mickey. Then on your 2nd night at the Magic Kingdom try watching the fireworks somewhere from Main Street or even the Train Station viewing area on the 2nd floor. You'll suddenly see larger than life fireworks further back. You'll mind will be blown!!!
Get that camera ready. You'll want to document the experiment for your friends and family back home who will of course get tempted to do the same fireworks experiment on their next trip.
This last video isn't from a Disney Park but seriously, this Prince just got hotter and his friend could be a Disney KING!
I'll book the trip sometime this month for a late Halloween October visit slash early November visit. There will be six plus people going, more so family and I can't wait!
I also plan on taking a summer August trip to Disneyland to take in all the new summer Disneyland attractions and additions and I also plan on a 2nd WDW trip during New Year's Eve for 2012. Shit if the world is going to end I might as well be in the Magic Kingdom when it does!
3 trips. One Year. I hope I can pull this off. Last year I didn't get to travel to the parks and this year I'm going to make up for it.
